Where do classes take place?
Parent Craft is based in Park Slope Brooklyn but classes currently take place online through the Zoom platform. In person private classes may be possible in special circumstances, reach out for more information.
When in my pregnancy should I take a childbirth class?
Parent Craft uniquely offers support for every phase of your pregnancy, including pre-conception in our Seed Class. We recommend you schedule the Labor + Birth Class sometime between 28-36 weeks, though it can be taken as early as 24 weeks. The Fourth Trimester Class is ideal to take after you complete the Labor Class but before baby arrives (and best to plan before 36 weeks, if possible). Private phone consults, pregnancy coaching or classes can offer support at any phase in the process. Email us with questions!
Who teaches the classes?
Parent Craft Labor + Birth Classes are taught by a Certified Nurse Midwife, offering an insider’s point of view. Learn more about all of our amazing teachers here. →
Why should I choose Parent Craft? What is your teaching philosophy?
Our classes reflect the diversity of Casey’s professional experience working with expecting and new families since 2002. Curriculum draws on Casey’s work as a clinical Midwife in NYC, a birth and postpartum doula, training in Lamaze as well as her motherhood journey of 3 daughters. Our goal is to create classes that are welcoming, relaxed, personal and evidence-based without being overwhelming. We want to help you build trust in your relationships, identify support and resources and to embrace that while you won’t know everything about this experience, you will be OK! We give you specific tools and resources to navigate the mystery of pregnancy, birth and beyond and have fun doing it.
What are the different classes you offer?
We offer a variety of group classes that span from pregnancy through the first year of new parenting. Learn more about our Group Classes here. Interested in something else? Specialized classes can be created privately for you - just ask!
Will I feel comfortable in your classes?
We are committed to creating a safe and inclusive space that allows for us to learn from our diversity as a group. Single parents and couples of all backgrounds are welcome and will be supported. Please let us know about any emotional, physical or special needs we should be aware of.
How big are group classes?
Labor + Birth Classes are no more than 8 couples online. Postpartum Support Group are no more than 6 babies (and their grown ups) per class. We want to ensure that you get all your question answered while connecting with an intimate group and benefit from individualized attention of your educator.
This is my 2nd child - do you offer a refresher class? What if I had a C-Section last time?
We offer private classes at the Parent Craft space or in the comfort of your own home for Childbirth Refreshers, Birth After Cesarean, Expecting Twins and more! Visit us here for more information or to inquire about pricing and availability. →

Casey is a midwife - do your classes provide medical advice?
Parent Craft does not provide medical advice. Our classes provide evidence-based information and guidance, but expectant and new mothers should direct all medical questions to their appropriate midwives, doctors, or other health care providers. We will help you figure out what questions to ask your provider and even help you find the right local provider for your needs!
Do you offer any other resources after class ends?
All of our students are provided with a login for a curated virtual library of resources, referrals and recommendations for continued learning. Additionally, students can reach out to our instructors anytime after class for ongoing support.
